things to do Although it's totally secluded, Adders Green is only seven miles from the spa and festival town of Buxton, and about six miles from the market town of Leek. It's a mile to the nearest pub, and about 2 miles to Flash Bar Stores, the nearest shop. There's organic farm produce and local ice cream a short drive away. You're within easy reach of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, the caves at Castleton, Jodrell Bank radio telescope, Rudyard Lake with its waterside miniature railway. Manchester is accessible by train from Buxton. It's a fantastic drive across the high moors to Alton Towers. We're in the Peak District National Park, and it's great walking country. There are several footpaths running through the farm, so you don't need to drive. The Roaches - a great place for climbing and walking - is on your skyline. You can hire a bike for a gentle level ride along old railways, or more challenging exploration of hilly lanes. There's a rich variety of landscape with small villages, hidden valleys, spectacular views and wild moorland. Flash, the highest village in England, is a couple of miles away. Other local activities include riding and trekking, caving and climbing, plus seasonal events like well-dressing and agricultural shows. There's a complementary therapy centre at Ann Roach, a short walk across two fields, offering massage, acupuncture and meditation. ..............................................................................................................
